Progress for my next work “Hanging by a Thread”, the story of what happens to mangroves after a Cat 4 hurricane named Irma. I love the bouillon embroidery stitch, here I am using it in blended colors of 6 strands plus 6 strands of thread. The leaves are fabric with embroidered edges. Guided by the Fibonacci sequence I am incorporating the golden rectangle (in the overall finished size/piece) plus 55 fabric leaves, 34 roots and 21 embroidered leaves (so far).
